Jordon Cook
Jordan Cook, a beekeeper for 12 years, was born and raised in Michigan’s Thumb. In 2019, he started a family apiary with three hives, which has grown to 350–400 hives today. With help from his
father-in-law, Mike Pattee, wife Stacey, and their children, Jordan manages bees across St. Clair,
Sanilac, Tuscola, and Lapeer counties. Beekeeping is a full-time job. In fall, Jordan moves his bees to Georgia, then to California for almond pollination, before returning to Michigan for apple and cherry pollination in spring. The bees stay in the Thumb for honey season. Jordan aims to expand his hives and seeks property owners to host
bee yards during honey months.
